Will Adele Do A Full Recovery After Throat Surgery?

"After only two albums, could Adele’s career have already been on the line?
There must have been considerable worrying surrounding the vocal ability of the 23-year-old British singer-songwriting sensation as she went under the knife, receiving scheduled surgery on her throat.
The good news for all concerned is that she’s expected to make a full recovery from sinister-sounding “vocal cord microsurgery.” The Grammy winner had the procedure at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, performed by Dr. Steven Zeitels, head of the Voice Center, who has previously operated on Steven Tyler.
The operation should stop recurrent bleeding and prevent possible rupture from a benign polyp. And that will come as a relief, considering that in October she had to scrap her remaining concert dates and appearances for the rest of the year. ”If I continue to pick up everything before I have properly conquered these problems and nipped them in the bud, I will be totally and utterly f___,” she said on her blog recently. “Singing is literally my life, it’s my hobby, my love, my freedom and now my job.”
Adele had already told fans that she’s given up smoking and drinking to save her voice. If cursing remains her only vice, it will hopefully mean that we can continue to enjoy her more soulful words on record and in person."

Lady Gaga's Story Might Become a Lifetime Movie

"We're not sure how we feel about this, but there's no denying it's happening: Lifetime is developing “Fame Monster: The Lady Gaga Story,” a made-for-TV biopic about the star.

The story is apparently going to focus more on her start, rather than her current reign, according a casting notice for the lead role, which says the film will cover her from ages 16 to 22. Deadline reports that the script is being written by Norman Snider (Casino Jack) and is based on the book Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga, written by Maureen Callahan of the New York Post in 2010.

Gaga, of course, is not involved in this venture at all, so whether or not the movie will even feature her music is unknown. We're not sure how she would react to her life being shaped by the sob-story factory over at Lifetime, but the tone of the film is reportedly going to be an uplifting “love letter” to the performer.

The romanticized version of her story is made-for-TV perfection: a born-and-raised New York girl from a close, well-adjusted family dreams of becoming a singer. Reportedly bullied in high school, she chases her dream at NYU, singing folksy tunes in coffee shops and bars. Eventually she drops out to pursue her music, gets adopted into the underground life of burlesque-type shows and starts parading around in her bra and panties with Lady Starlight, much to the dismay of her modest Italian Catholic father. Fast forward to some down days with drugs, dropped record deals, and the climactic turning-point of the movie—a dramatic scene in which Gaga's boyfriend tells her she'll never succeed.
We all know how that story turns out. (...)"

Lady Gaga on The Simpsons

"Lady Gaga sets to make guest appearance in The Simpsons"

Lady Gaga is set to appear in The Simpsons, producers of the long-running cartoon US show have confirmed.
The singer, whose real name is Stafani Germanotta, recorded her voice-over earlier this month.
She's described the experience as "one of the coolest things I've ever done".
The episode, titled Lady Goes Gaga, will air in America in spring 2012 and is likely to air in the UK later in the year.

'Iconic personalities'
The 25-year-old told Entertainment Weekly: "I make music, but I don't do voice-overs every day of the week and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humour.
"That's what I was trying to focus on, not putting on a character too much and really being as sincere as I could with the lines."
In the episode, the singer comes to Springfield to cheer up Lisa, who's been suffering from low self-esteem.
Lady Gaga revealed that her character ends up kissing Marge, saying, "the apple doesn't fall far from my artistic tree".
Producers of The Simpsons said they were impressed by her voice acting and ad-libbing skills. (...)

Drugs didn't kill Amy Whineouse

"Tests Show No Illegal Drugs Involved in Amy Winehouse's Death"

"A spokesman for Amy Winehouse's family revealed on Tuesday that a toxicology report shows there were no illegal drugs in the singer's system at the time of her death.

The 27-year-old soul singer had publicly battled with drug and alcohol addiction throughout her career, and many were quick to say that her death on July 23 had seemed like a foregone conclusion. However, the initial autopsy of Winehouse's body didn't shed any light on the specific cause of death.

While Tuesday's announcement complicates the many quick-hit theories on what killed Winehouse, there's still a real possibility that her addiction had a direct hand in her death. The toxicology report did find that "alcohol was present" in her system, though the family spokesman said it was unclear if that contributed to Winehouse's death."

Amy Winehouse Foundation hits buffers

"Following his daughter's death on July 24 dad Mitch Winehouse announced that he would be setting up the Amy Winehouse Foundation to help young people struggling with addiction.
He met up with Government officials last week to discuss plans to set up a drug rehabilitation centre - joined by Amy's management team and teen rehab campaigners. But in a post on Twitter over the weekend he revealed that the plans have hit a serious obstacle - someone has has already registered the name of the foundation."Instead of concentrating on allocating funding I am having to send cheques back cos we don't haven't got bank ac in that name," he tweeted.According to the Guardian the online domain names such as amywinehousefoundation.com and amywinehousefoundation.org.uk have been taken by people unaffiliated with the charity following the singer's death.Mitch has confirmed he is taking legal action but for the time being the foundation has been put on hold."

Lady Gaga on Video Music Awards (VMAs)

“Lady Gaga to open VMAs”

“Lady Gaga will open the 2011 Video Music Awards (VMAs), she announced last night.
The popular American songstress revealed the exciting news after teasing fans all week.
She made the announcement through her fanbase known as the Little Monsters, who told the world the news via a huge banner in Times Square that read 'GAGA TO OPEN VMAs!!!'
' have a really big announcement, but I thought as usual, instead of me announcing it, I'd let the Little Monsters do it for me,' she told MTV's Sway, before gushing about the coveted opportunity.
't means the world to me. I just feel really blessed every day. I have the most amazing fans.'
Gaga is also nominated for four awards at the prestigious music event including Best Female Video (Born This Way), Best Art Direction (Judas), Best Choreography (Judas) and Best Video with a Message (Born This Way).
The 2011 Video Music Awards will air on Sunday August 28.
It was a busy night for the star, as her full-length VMA promo was also unveiled, while her Yoü And I video also made its television premiere.
The star revealed the concept behind her song's accompanying video.
"I wrote the song about this guy that I used to date," she revealed. "But the song is about going back to anyone or anything in your life that means something to you.'
Meanwhile, fellow pop star Joss Stone revealed she doesn't approve of Gaga's eccentric attire. The British songstress insists Gaga's love of outrageous garb overshadows her musical talent.
"I know the shock value is good and gets people to watch you, but actually [Gaga] can sing songs and she can play piano and it just feels like [her look] might overshadow what talent she does have," she told CYInterview.”
